Scientific name : Meloidogyne graminicola.

Damage of Rice root-knot nematode:

1. Nematode damages seedlings in nursery and in upland rice.

2. Larvae enter the roots and cause gall formation which disturbs the uptake of water and nutrients.

3. Infested plants show stunting, yellowing and loss in vigor which leads to reduction in ear head, panicle length and grain weight.

Control of Rice root-knot nematode:

Soil treatment with chlorpyriphos 10G @ 10 kg /ha or carbofuran 3G @ 33kg /ha or carbosulfan 6G @ 16 kg/ha is effective.
