MAHAMAYA (R 320-298, IET 10749)

1. Parentage - Asha x Kranti 2. Maturity - 125-128 days 3. Grain Type - Long bold grain 4. Biotic stress - Resistance to gall midge and tolerance to WBPH, leaf folder, sheath rot, brown spot and BLB. 5. Abiotic Stress - This variety has better tolerance to drought at Physiological level than popular variety 'Kranti' 6. Recommended regions/ areas - Recommended by All India Rice workshop for the state of M.P, Chhattisgarh, U.P. and Tripura. 7. INDIRA BARANI DHAN-1 (RF-17-38-70, IET 21205)

1. Parentage - Swarna x IR 42253 2. Maturity - 111-115 days 3. Grain Type - Medium Slender grain 4. Biotic stress - Moderately resistant to Stem Borer. Field tolerance to Neck blast and Bacterial Bligh. 5. Recommended regions/ areas - a) This variety has been specifically bred for “Rainfed Shallow Lowland Ecosystem” of Chhattisgarh plains and adopted to Aerobic conditions. b) It tolerates moderate level of drought and to some extent escape terminal stage drought. 6. Areas of Adoption - Rainfed shalow lowlands of Chhattisgarh State. 7. Special attributes - Rainfed cultivation of whole rice growing areas of State. 8. Average yield - This Variety Indira Barani Dhan-1 possesses Medium Slender grain with golden husk, High Head Rice Recovery (64.4%) and intermediate Amylose content (24.7). 40-45 q/ha. 9. DURGESHWARI (R 1243-1224-578-1, IET 19795)

1. Parentage- Mahamaya x NSN 5 (MTC-4, IET 11904) 2. Maturity - 130-135 days 3. Grain Type- Long slender grain 4. Biotic stress- 1. Resistance to Leaf Blast 2. Moderately resistant/tolerant to Sheath blight, Bacterial Blight, Sheath rot, Gall- midge and Rice Tungro diseases. 5. Recommended regions/ areas - This variety has better tolerance to drought at Physiological level. 6. Areas of Adoption - Recommended for eastern regions of India , Chhattisgarh, Orrisa and Bihar 7. Special attributes - Irrigated areas of Chhattisgarh, Orrisa and Bihar. Rainfed areas of medium to heavy soils of (Dorsa and Kanhar) Chhattisgarh. 8. Average yield - The Variety Durgeshwari (IET 19795) possesses long Slender grain, better head Rice Recovery (55%), intermediate Amylose content (24.62%). DANTESHWARI (IET 15450, R302-111)

1. Parentage - Samridhi x IR 8608-298. 2. Maturity - 100-105 days 3. Grain Type - Long slender grains 4. Biotic stress - i) Resistance to gall midge and tolerant to brown spot. ii) It escapes most of the pest and diseases in Kharif season as being early. 5. Recommended regions/ areas - i) Normally escape drought stress being an early variety. ii) Posses good physiological tolerance as well as to drought. 6. Areas of Adoption - The variety Danteshwari recommended all rice growing zones of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh state. 7. Special attributes - 1. BAMLESHWARI (IET 14444, R 738-1-64-2-2)

1. Parentage - RP 2154-40-1 X IR 9828-23 2. Maturity - 130-135 days 3. Grain Type - Long bold grains 4. Biotic stress - The variety 'Bamleshwari' has resistance to BLB and tolerant to Sheath blight and Brown spot. This variety has also posses field tolerance to gall midge and WBPH. 5. Recommended regions/ areas - The variety although recommended for irrigated situation, yet posses a good level of tolerance to drought. 6. Areas of Adoption - 1. Recommended by 33rd All India Rice workshop for state of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and eastern Utter Pradesh. 2. Recommended by Zonal Research and Extension Advisory Committee for irrigated condition on all soils and ''Dorsa'' and 'Kanhar' soils under rainfed situation of the state. 7. Special attributes - The variety 'Bamleshwari' has high yield potential and almost complete resistant to BLB and high tolerance to Sheath blight, Brown spot and also acceptable to 'poha industery'. 8. “Chandrahasini” (IET 16800, R 979-1528-2-1, IC 549667)

1. Parentage - Abhaya x Phalguna 2. Maturity - 120-125 days. 3. Grain Type - Long slender grains 4. Biotic stress - R to GM 1, moderately resistance to BPH, Leaf folder, WBPH and Neck blast and tolerant to Leaf Blast, Brown spot and Sheath rot. 5. Recommended regions/ areas - Recommended for irrigated ecosystem and rainfed bunded having medium to heavy textured soils of Chhattisgarh plains. 6. Areas of Adoption - Whole rice growing areas of Chhattisgarh 7. Special attributes - This culture is highly acceptable to farmers because of its high yield potential, export quality grain (non basmati) with desirable quality i.e. intermediate GT, high amylase, soft gel consistency and high Head rice recovery and R to GM 1, moderately resistance to BPH, Leaf folder, WBPH and Neck blast and tolerant to Leaf Blast, Brown spot and Sheath rot. 8.
